The Final Submission !
Firstly, through SEB program, I found out some differences between Japanese work place to Canadian work place. The most interest thing is server at any restaurants or cafes are close to customer like a friend. Their conversations and responses are not as stiff and formal as in Japan, but rather flat and fun. Also, they ask customers during meal “Is everything okay? Is there anything I can help you?”, that was one of surprising experience in Canada. They take care about customer while they are in their place. I feel it is related with suggestive selling I learnt at Food & Beverage class. Also, good attitude, smile, wording, those are essential to work in the hospitality field since customer judge the store’s evaluation by impression from staff. Greeting is simple, but many people tend to take it lightly, especially during busy time or they are tired, staff forget smiling. Knowing how to self-motivate is also significant. ...
