Challenges in delivering customer service

Barriers are interspersed in our lives, and they sometimes become harsh and difficult, creating a distance between people.

First of all, barriers are such as laziness, poor communication skills, poor time management, attitude, moodiness, lack of adequate training and so on. Those barriers are must be overcame and you should demonstrate your professionalism instead of that.

By the way, as I told you, I am a coffee person. One of my favorite time is cafe-hopping, so I am glad to live in Canada which is flourishing café culture. I’ve been to several cafes since I came in Vancouver, Canada, then I’ve been feeling some barriers they have. If they improve more customer service, I will go more often…

Let’s see 3 cafes, and compare their customer services and their challenges!

       1.Breka Bakery & Cafe            2.Cafe Kitsune                    3.Tim Hortons

Breka Bakery is well known as 24 hours opened cafe. They provide coffee, pastry, cakes, light meal, and remember, they also provide customers nice atmosphere.

The first time I visited there, I noticed there were many students or office workers to study or work with their laptops. Around lunch time, the number of customers is getting increased. And at late night, you will see many people still enjoy talking with their coffee.

To enhance their attractive, please take care of each customer who is standing in front of you. During busy hours, staffs tend to forget smile and kindness. They are so focused on handling customers and I feel heartless.

Café Kitsune is located in Gastown. This cafe is a collaboration between France and Japan, and is very popular among Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, and other Asians.

The first impression to staffs was great. Their greeting was warmly, and as I was taking time to order, barista proactively asked me “What do you feel like today?”. I told my feelings on that day, then she made suggestion and customize the beverage for me. It was not on the menu actually though, her hospitality made my day! On other day, I visited again. Surprisingly, she remembered me and my preference.
She must have been meeting many customers and makes tons of coffee since I went there last time! She seems like enjoy working and proud of as a member of Café Kitsune.
Even the coffee price is costly though, I would repeat to go for spending an amazing time.

    Lastly, talk about Tim Hortons!

I don’t remember how many times I went since I came to Vancouver. I've talked about Tim Horton many times in previous posts, but here I'm going to focus on a different realization.
Sometimes my order is misunderstood from them. One day, I ordered 12-Grain bagel. However, I got was 2 pieces of plain bagel… Is it cause my English accent? Either way, the mistake can be prevented by repeating order. It doesn’t take that much time, right? That is not difficult what I am saying, just I want them to make sure what customer ordered.
